Based on the expectation that students attend at least two training sessions per week, we schedule gradings every two months. If a student is unable to attend a scheduled grading, they have the option to participate in a grading session at any of our other venues. It is important to bring your membership card with current insurance information to the grading. For beginners, a welcome pack, including the membership and grading book, will be sent by post

Karate

•    Karate students must wear a clean, pressed white uniform (GI) with badges on the left side of the breast.
•    For Red Belt (11 kyu) grading, membership and insurance must be current.
•    Orange Stripe Belt (8th kyu) candidates need their own sparring kit. Lack of equipment may affect the pass mark.
•    Black Belt (1st dan) candidates require a heavyweight uniform (gi). No jewelry is allowed during grading.

Kickboxing

•    Students must wear the SAMA Kickboxing uniform.
•    Red Belt candidates need wraps; Orange Belt candidates should have their own 16oz gloves.
•    It’s beneficial to acquire personal equipment like skipping ropes and bag gloves for more efficient training.
•    Gradings are allowed only after sufficient time and with 3 black stripes on the belt. Instructors will notify students eligible for   grading.
•    Black Belt candidates must exhibit proper respect and manners. The minimum waiting period is 6 months, with the final   decision made after passing a pre-grade (mock) exam.

Pre-Grade Karate Class

•    On grading day, we offer a special pre-grade class for children, scheduled to take place one hour before the grading begins.
•    This class is specifically designed for students who have achieved 3 black stripes or are nearing their grading milestone.
•    The focus of this class is to provide a comprehensive refresher, concentrating on key areas such as breathing techniques, strength enhancement, focus sharpening, and boosting confidence.
•    Please remember, grading sessions need to be pre-booked online to ensure a well-organized and efficient grading process.
